COVID-19 and Face masks

Buffalo Trace District Health Department is sharing a COVID-19 Update.

Governor Andy Beshear signed an executive order requiring face masks to be worn in public-facing businesses. This order will take effect at 5 PM on July 10, 2020.

Face masks need to be worn:

  • At any retail establishment – grocery, pharmacy, hair salon, nail spa, tattoo parlor, daycare, restaurant/bar (when you are not seated at a table and actively consuming food)
  • When you cannot social distance – more than 6 feet away from people outside your household
  • Transportation – if you use public transportation, when you ride with someone outside of your household
  • Outdoor – only if you are within 6 feet of people outside your household

Non-compliance of this order in Mason and Robertson County is to be reported to the Buffalo Trace District Health Department. Those who are worried about their health and safety while in public should call and leave a message which includes their specific complaint, business name where non-compliance took place, and the time of day of their concern.

The whole community has a role to play in keeping our economy open. It is still up to the individual to the right thing by wearing a face mask and following the public health prevention procedures. The consequences of not doing so have become greater, but the most tragic consequence of all is the loss of life due to coronavirus harm.
